Orange Syrup

Mmmm. Summer is here and its time for new adventures with old friends with fantastic food and drink. Theres no better way to start the season off than with fresh, sun-drenched ingredients.

Here’s a cheap and simple syrup recipe that will add splash of rich orange flavor to your iced teas or summer cocktails:

>One cup water
>One cup sugar
>four ounces (one large orange) orange zest
>One ounce vodka (optional preservative)

Heat water and sugar over a medium flame until dissolved. Remove from heat and stir orange zest into the mixture while hot. Allow to cool, and strain through a fine-mesh strainer.

Refrigerated and without the addition of vodka, keeps up to one month. With, it keeps for far longer.

Try it in green tea. Its freakin’ bomb.
